Strange bullet Maybe???

Think its a bullet but it has a weird shaped casing. It has what looks like a lead bullet sticking out!

What are the dimensions and what is the outer case made of?

I will pull it out soon and measure it exactly but I'd say around 2" and the case may be iron or steal because it looks rusted some. The end is lead and looks just like a bullet head. Thanks for trying to figure it out.

Could be some type of sabot round. I have never heard of an iron or steel sabot, but that doesn't mean they didn't make one. When you measure it, try to get the diameter of the lead bullet and the outer case, if you can.

Thanks and I will let you know. I had it put away so that's why I didn't get it out yet. Maybe it's not steal but has hardened soil to make it look rusty. I will get you the measurements and I appreciate you figuring it out.
