I think it is a cavalry bridle rosette or a martingale. I am not certain but pretty sure it is something off of horse tack.

Very cool stuff. I used to be a coin hunter but now I have the relic hunting bug. My wife and I have a good site for CW relics. We are banished until fall though becaise of the crops and it is killing me. Good luck on future hunts.
