WW1 Battle field tour
Thought would be interesting for some to see some pictures of french WW1 battle fields.
First of all one of the smaller german cementeries there to keep in mind what the following pictures are about. .

Re: WW1 Battle field tour
Wow! Now that is interesting. VERY interesting that they would let you climb down in a hole and excavate (?) some of the ordinance that you have there.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: WW1 Battle field tour
Who said anybody is allowing to do that?
And no, no detector is used, in france that stuff is lying on top, besides what's in tunnels and holes.
Very rare British launcher grenade

French Fort,...... Actually those ones were pre WW1 but used in WW1 until the last man. Today most nobody know. The french as well have a great way to handle those things, let all treees grow the way they want and people won't find it. LOL
That's the reason you need old military maps where trenches and forts are marked.

Re: WW1 Battle field tour
Great story.
Its been ca90 years since the WW1 ended, and still live ammo are everywhere........
Det vi vet er så uendelig lite mot det som har hendt. Arkeologen er som den som går langs en strand og finner småtterier, skyllet i land fra et forsvunnet skib. Men selve skibet som gikk i dypet med menneskene får han aldri se.
