Yes, you cant get the controls wet, but it is a FBS unit and can be used on saltwater beaches... In fact the Jewelry mode is designed for saltwater beach hunting...

Hi treasure hunter, just came across your reply and I appreciate that it is actually someone elses settings but I dont think he was using the Safari as the settings listed do not relate to the Safari!!!
And to answer your question Mint the Safari is great on all sand and land.

I have yet to see a multi-frequency detector that does not do great on dry and wet sand at the beach.

But as Treasure Hunter advised, do NOT get the control box wet! :icon_thumleft:
