Convinced minelab to send a new gt. Just got it today...defective! Wont turn off, no volume control. Told them i'm done ups knows me personally now. Shipped four times. Been 2 months found probably 3 pennies. I told them i'm not happy and I want an explorer ir safari. They'll said no, but then said they'll discuss it. they said 2% are faulty out of box .

To all the PRO'S out there ... I was going to buy a Minelab Sov. GT but that might change after
reading this thread...

Now could this be an Issue with the 2011 New Sov.GT coming out of the factory ??

Thanks ahead for the post to this Q :notworthy:

That great Jeff you had good luck with your's :headbang:

,..what about the NEW Sov.GT coming out of the factory ?

as I Said :dontknow:

I'm at a complete loss.

only thing I Know,
if you take the detector right out the box
& Put the recharble battery in without charging it.
(Preferably for 10 hours or more)
& The battery is dead,
the volume will Blare, & the volume control won't work.
You won't be able to detect either.

But you can still turn it off.

If fully charged & You have the settings correct,
& You don't swing it like an old Bounty Hunter red Barron,
(Early VHS you had to be there :tongue3: )
you should be able to detect a coin at 4"

Either you have Very bad Luck,
or your not doing something right.

I Can't believe Sovereign Construction
can have gone down hill that much.

IF This is the case,
They need to get new Technicians,
or go back to the XS2 Pro setup

I own 2 Sov GTs, they are fantastic detectors.....I would not hesitate to buy another Sov GT..........if I ever needed a 3rd Sov GT.... Sov GT is the best beach detector there is if your not going into the water.........

Any detector can be bad out of the box, and it doesn't matter what Brand.............

Just gotta say minelab made things right. Getting an explorer for my 2 month nightmare. They're testing before they ship.
