Hello every, I have a question for anyone who uses the X-terra series (and possibly others, I'm not sure)...

Does anyone use the multi-tone feature? (marked as 99, even though it's not)....I used it for a while, but it got so over-whelming bouncing between different tones...I usually just use the 3 tone setting, but I'm curious if, in your opinion it is worth it to learn the multi-tone setting.

Thanks for all your input,
Marshall

I do. I down loaded Randy Horton's book on x-terra's from the minelab web. I tried what he doe's I put 505 on all metal, ground balance, and set 99 for all tones. I have been finding more, i Can tell what it will be better.. if you get the book you will understand it better. also it tells the tid numbers with the tone better. give it a try .

I agree. Although somewhat tiresome listening to all of those variances in tones, it gives more information. I've been able to identify trash from treasure better. Give it some time.

Use all tones because when you get used to them you will love it. Use ALL METAL 99 TONES.

I agree, it's best if you can use all tones but there are still times it gets too much and I'll use 4 tone on both the Xterra and Etrac.
