Has anyone used an 18" Excellerator E coil? How is it on small items like a dime or ring? It looks like this is probably a DD type coil with one side smaller than the other. Is that how it is or is it a mono coil? Thanks, Mark

I have an 18x12" coil for my se pro. It is much better at finding deep signals of all sizes >6" in clean soil. The large coil gives an extra 2-3" of depth on coin sized targets. The large coil has trouble finding dimes in trashy soil however. I've found dimes at 8" that sounded easy. In trashy soil, the stock coil is better.

I would be using the coil at a salt water beach. Trash wouldn't be a particular problem there. Have you tried yours in an area like that? Both dry sand and wet mineralized sand?

For sand, the 18" coil can cover more area and find deeper targets of all sizes than the stock coil.
