Yup. Roger that, treasure hunter. I'm hip; the absence of a threshold tone is, in this case, an iron signal. However, it's a signal with no defining characteristics. The null combined with this machine's recovery time allows for no indication of size or depth of an object. A horseshoe tac gives the same silence as a cannonball. The absence of an "iron" tone is the worst part of hunting with this machine. BTW, the ground alone causes these "iron" pauses all the time.


Couldn't you just switch to all metal to get an indication of the iron signal?

What are differences in SEF and WOT coil?

I have a WOT, and the 12x15" and 15x18" SEF Butterfly coils for my Sov GT. Both the WOT and SEF Butterfly coils work very well on the GT..... I have used both for couple years and cant really say one is better than the other... I love them both..... You get 15" of cover wehn you sweep and they are very deep. WOT I think is just a hair heaver, but not enough to really notice...
