Well just got to use my explorer for the first time today... For a few minutes before the rain. Well anyways this thing is alot more customize able than my at pro and honestly am kind of lost. And quick pointers to set it up for a beginner minelab user would be great. Also I have a sun ray pin pointer on it. And I have noticed it has some wobble in the handle not sure if this is common or not.

Thanks Brandon

I would highly recommend Andy Sabisch's book on Explorer and Etrac. I purchased thru Amazon for $20. I'm half way through it and Etrac is making more sense. It is really good though right out of box on Minelab preset patterns.

I do like it a lot. But I have heard that the 15 in wot coil doesn't improve the depth for coin sized targets with the explorer. Anyone have any experience with this? I would like to try a different coil. Just haven't figured out the best one for me.

I've switched to 13" Ultimate on GT and love it. I'm thinking of trying one one Etrac. I believe the wot is heavier. There are great comparison on another forum (not sure I can mention name without being put in timeout) between these 2 coils and several sef's

Maybe the se pro coil would be a good one for me. Are the factory explorer II coils dd?

Brandon how are you making out with the SE Pro? I just bought one should be here the middle of next week. I'm hoping because I have been using a Sovereign GT I will catch on to the tone a little quicker.

The tones are totally different. I have a GT and an Etrac. They are almost like night and day, not that either are bad, just much different.
