I don't know how you could leave it alone for nearly three months! ???

Congrats on the new machine!:occasion14: IMO the 705 is the best kept secret in detecting.

Neat, I have a similar story, got about the same pile of coins and junk from around my house, I broke open an X-terra 705 on Christmas eve day, I can not believe how quick the learning curve as been, love the machine and glad I went with it.

It was well worth the wait. In the meantime I used a decent Tesoro. but it does not compare, best machine I've had.

My new 705 should be here soon what would you guys, who use this, machine recommend for a next coil its coming with the 7.5 frequency concentric 10" coil, I'm more used to the sef coils & the dd coil never really used many concentric ones, I do a lot of detecting in the woods, parks, schools really anywhere I can for anything I was thinking on the dd coil either 6" or the 9" I believe

Actually the standard stock coil is a 9" concentric. The Minelab DD coils for the Xterra are 5x10",10.5", and 6" HF, and 10.5" MF. Coiltek makes 15" DD coils in all three frequencies, as well as a 6" DD LF.
NO OTHER COILS ARE AUTHORIZED BY MINELAB!
Any other aftermarket coils are produced with less than accurate spec's obtained by means of reverse engineering (pirated technology), and should be avoided. DON'T REWARD THIEVES!!

As far as what you might want next....I would refer you to the four part blog article that Randy Horton wrote.

you will love the Xterra. I tried a few coils. The 9" 3 hz coil seemed to find coins a bit deeper than the stock, but not enough to make much difference. The 10 dd was a bit too heavy for me, so I did some trades and ended up with the 6 inch which is a good utility coil for trashy areas.
