All of those are a bit overpriced. I've bought them for less on E-bay. You just have to be patient and a little lucky! I'd avoid the Sword model as Minelab is not supporting those anymore.

I can understand that. I've seen lots of posts of people talking about trying to get there hands on one so I thought I'd share. Some others want the old blue because it has been said that they feel "they run hotter then the new version" don't know if it's true or not but people look for them so I just wanted to help those in search of.
Good luck hunting!

I paid $475 and $600 for my 2 blue excals. Now I do have more in them with the pinpoint mods, Detectorpro Amphibian head phones and WOT/SEF 12x15 coils on them but still less than a new excal....

T.H., How do you like the excal with the WOT coil? I've been pondering that move myself! Thanks

I have been using WOT and the 12x15" SEF coils for years niw, I love them both 1 excal has WOT other has SEF, both are hardwired into controls. I tried using a 10" couple years ago on my Sovereign and face up and went back to the 15" coils.

I love the coverage and depth they give me... I have a WOT and the 15x18" SEF Butterfly coils for my Sovereign GT plus the stock 10" coil.

I hunt in the surf as well as wet sand with excals.....

I love mine with the WOT. Like Treasure Hunter said, it has great depth and coverage. It also has good sensitivity on small targets. I've dug jean rivets and stud ear rings up to 9" deep! Quarters at 18"+. I have mine set up where you can change the coil if you want, without having to take the control box apart. The WOT kit came with a waterproof connector setup.
