I've got an old X Terra 30 machine that has been recently giving me some trouble.

Sometimes, it won't detect anything even when I know something is under the area I'm swinging it.

Other times, it will start going off like crazy no matter what I'm pointing it at.

I would love to go buy a new AT Pro, but the money is just not there right now. So, can anyone tell me how to fix my old machine? All suggestions welcome!

Sounds like a cracked coil gone wonky.
If you know another Xterra user, ask to try their stock 7.5kHz coil. A used replacement stock coil could be a reasonably cheap fix.

As Longhair said try another coil to see if is just a coil issue first...

FYI, Kellyco now does financing if your interested.
