TTF vs stock coin program

I've tried both. I have used TTF and the stock coin program on a virgin site looking for coins and I honestly feel the stock coin program may not be letting me get the full potential of the etrac. The tones are real easy to get used to in Multi tones but what would be the advantage to coin hunting in TTF

I think the TTF advantage really becomes apparent in heavy iron littered sites.

I can only go by my experience, but I think it is easier in TTF.

I've used it relic hunting but never coin hunting. Really honestly wonder what the difference in the depth would be. I'm sure there is a bit of difference

Speaking only about the iron infested area I hunt (no aluminum trash at all).....TTF does a great job of picking out the coins among the iron. As far as depth goes, I have not scooped any deeper then 4-5", but you have to realize that the iron is so thick the Etrac wont even run higher then 7-8 in auto sens mode and I am using a 5" x-5 coil. As we clean out the iron I hope to get deeper.

With Many of the coins that I find their numbers show up much lower then normal on my screen because of all the nails etc. It is not uncommon to scoop a coin along with 3 or 4 nails and pieces of wire.

So, if it was me, coin hunting in a normal park or school area, I would not use TTF, as there is too much high conductive junk. The best part of using it in high iron areas is that all you have to do is listen for a high tone and chances are you have a keeper under the coil.

That was my main concern was losing depth. The site I'm on isn't over infested with iron or aluminum but i do find some and when I have it in the stock coin program I just worry about losing some depth while I'm nulling out iron.

I have been running only TTF in an extreme cherry picking program at an old high school infested with iron. I hit a 9" dime with Minelab 8" coil, I've dug a dozen coins or more at the 7-8" range. Might as well forget about using the numbers, they're way off, I listen for a repeatable tone only when hunting at this sight. The etrac runs a almost constant null, but will hit a target as long as your sweep is extremely slow and overlapped. I see no loss in depth at all. I've been using TTF for the last 5-6 months and use it every site I hit, it's gotten to the point where I don't like the Multi-tone conductive sound anymore. I may use 4 tones from time to time, but 90% of the it's TTF.

That's what I was looking in to as well. I mean with all the thinking it's doing with stock coin program and some of the limits it has while in it I would imagine that you're losing some depth or at least some targets

My hunting buddy uses nothing but the factory coin program and nothing else, runs multi-tones conductive and digs 6-8" targets on a regular basis.
