Question on this new MINE LAB seen it on another site also after reading this post the other post I read this detector has a rechargable battery pack built into it comes with wall charger and a cable to allow you to charge while in the field.

So does that mean it does not or will not use standard batteries and if so what happens when the built in battery pack goes bad do you have to send it off somewhere to get the battery pack replaced or what just curious

There are Two of the machines in the Country right now. One is at the GPAA Gold Show in California, and one is waiting for Kevin Hoagland at his home in Arizona, that he will be field testing when he returns from the show in Cali. He says it should be a great small gold machine after speaking with its design team. Stand By! :skullflag:

I should have been clearer, I was not aware of any in states for sale, I am sure Minelab has sent a couple out to be reviewed and tested.

Actually there is a third... Minelab sent one home with one dealer after the reveal at the Minelab dealer conference. If I know that guy, he immediately went to a gold patch and tried it. :). He doesn't post here, but no doubt his option will show up somewhere in due time.

oldkoot-

Again I know more than I can say, so I will not answer this directly. But- think about this... they primarily designed it for the African market. Would it be easy to deal with proprietary batteries in that environment? :)

I will revise my previous declaration of disinterest with the following. If the Big Bad Monster can rival the small gold performance of the Gold Bug 2, be waterproof to 10 feet and has a nice digital display, then they may win me over.

A simgle frequency vlf detector with specs generally similar to.the Whites Goldmaster series - in a much more modern mechanical design. Will it have some "secret sauce" which enables it to out-perform other similar machines? Time will tell. In any event, the price looks attractive.

Word is U.S. release has been pushed back. Supposedly a short delay. :skullflag:
