Looking at detecting fine <0.05 grams grain size gold in riverbeds nothing going to be large thin flakes at best, around shore not more then 2" at best on fine finds, looking at the Minelabs SDC 2300 as it is very sensitive to very small gold over the GPZ 5000 or 7000 due to price want to keep down, looking at 3999.00 CAN, is that a decent price? I was also looking at the Gold Monster 1000 not sure if it would stand up with that of the SDC 2300 and would be a nice detector to own nonetheless, but think I am looking for something abit more powerful.

Thoughts and opinions.

SDC is a pulse imduction detector - relatively immune to hot rocks and ground mineralization. The GM 1000 is a VLF IB detector. Like all such detectors, It will suffer loss of depth as ground mineralization increases and some hot rocks will sound off.
