Hey all,

Been doing a little more Beach hunting lately and considering getting a larger coil to cover more wide open ground.
Looking at the CORS Canon, The Coiltek WOT and the Nel (which I think is the exact same as Coiltek?)
But I see them in different freq. and wondering which Freq. is best for coins and rings and things on the Beach.

From what I've dug up so far, the 18.75 freq is best for smaller items and gold.

Please insert your 2 cents here if you can spare it ;-)

thank you.

If you go to Minelab's website and go to "Go Minelabbing" and then "Treasure Talk" you will be able to select Xterra 705 on the left hand side of page. There you will find a huge amount of very good info on the 705 and a lot of info regarding the different coils, frequencies and their uses. Read the articles by Randy Horton.....VERY helpful with the 705.
Good luck.....the Xterra 705 is a really good machine.

Lucky for you the CORS Cannon is made in a multi-frequency version that can be ran in the frequency of your choice.

Just so as not to endorse any particular seller the part number you are looking for is CORSCN162
https://www.bing.com/search?q=corscn162&pc=MOZB&form=MOZMBA

I was planning on making that my next upgrade, then they came out with the new Equinox so I might save my clad a bit longer and see how the reviews come in.

Thanks folks.

Tired Rooster,
Yes I did down load that pamphlet by Randy Horton on the Xterra when I first got the machine.
It's been a while so I need to open it up and read it again!!
I also followed your trail to the Minelab web site and found Randy's test on exactly what I was asking....18.75 is best for the smaller gold.
Thank you for that.

Icewing,
I saw that too....Ooooh yeah..that would be nice to have the multi freq coil.
Just getting past the cost.
I'm seeing some single freq coils, used for half the cost, so i don't know.
I'm jonesin' for a bigger coil on the beach, so not sure if I can wait til the money is saved (or found :laughing7:)

thanks again.

I totally understand, but when you consider its essentially 3 coils in one it's not quite so bad.
It totally rags me off to have a "multi frequency" machine that requires you to buy extra coils just to be able to use all of its features.
Hopefully the Equinox won't require you to spend enough to buy an XP Deus just to have use of it's features.

UPDATE...found one.

Well I was able to find a used 15" Coiltek WOT - 18.75Hz, on line for a fair price so I pulled the trigger.
I hope to have it before the weekend, so I can try it out at the Beach

This should increase my ability to cover some ground in a shorter time.
