After 7 years of detecting and 19,100 coins later, I finally hit my 1st Standing Liberty quarter....... 1927-S and it was under my nose in front yard of the farm(Renville) I am "sitting" on for a relative. Their grandparents 1st lived here about 1941, but there were homesteaders on the property prior to that. In G-4 condition it is worth $30 according to 2007 REDBOOK. If it were in Mint condition it would be worth $7000 smackeroonies. Only 396,000 minted with "S" that year. About 12 million from the other two mints. Also posted are two silver coins I found over Memorial Day weekend at Meire Grove and Morton, MN and a Rotary International medal I found at Kandiyohi.

Now that is a nice find. I'm in my 19th yr and so far I've found just (1) SLQ....a worn 1918 (P). Now why have I found 4 Barber quarters and only 1 Standing Liberty quarter in those yrs......it doesn't seem right.

Any Barber is my next objective. Inherited some from an uncle but haven't dug any yet.

On June 4th I noted that I was still looking for 1st Barber coin. On August 29th, I fulfilled that desire. Found it along with a 1953-D Silver Roosie, 1942 & 46 wheats, 193? Buffalo nickel and 1936 Mercury dime in the black dirt piles excavated to construct a new elementary playground at Renville, MN.

Below are 3 silver coins I found in about a half hour at Canby Football field in August. Also got a Kennedy half dollar there.
