So I've done the research, got permission & talked with a couple locals. I have a place in the South Metro (halfway between Rochester and the cities) that has guaranteed 5-10 archealogical sites (mostly 1800's homesteads), Indian history and encampments, waterway history, and possibly 1700s fur trading post (maps document the tradin post, but exact location is unknown.
So, I know someone is going to ask: why do you want a partner? I've been out of the sport for a few years now and just got an AT Pro and just would like a veteran to share some knowedge with me. Besides I always thought hunting with someone is just as enjoyable as by yourself.
There is a major river on the property, some mild hiking to get there, and I know we won't be able to hit all the spots in a day.
Anyone up for it?

Hi, I am a newbie, in south metro. getting my first detector in the mail this week. Fisher F2. If you want a partner just to travel or meet up with I'd at least buy lunch. I'm ready to soak up any info I can get, sounds really interesting.

email me [email protected]

thanks

Between four of us we should be able to find the river and the field. I don't know about any artifacts.
When is the frost out of the ground, May 15th 2013.
Maybe we could ALL (Trevor, MKD, xsully777 and me, Stumpy and anyone else that is interested) get together on Saturday, May 18th 2013 at 0800 at Little Oscars on Hiway 52 in Hampton and you can lead us there.
By golly! We might even learn something from each other, eh?!!

I would be interested. I don't yet have a detector but am looking for any pointers on buying one or if someone has an extra one I could use.
