Any Civil War Relic hunting in Gulfport area?

I'll be in the area for about a month (military) and am hoping there is somewhere to hunt other than beaches. Anyone have any pointers?

Hey Mike, I am mil also. Are you on keesler or the seabee base? I have been searching but all I have found is Hattisburg and Vicksburg. Well there is ship island but the national historic seashore people will not let anyone metal detect there.
