Wingman Tony and I got out for some detecting today... we needed our "button" fix and thought since it was not going to hit 100 degrees today, that we would skip work and get a hunt in.
Thats my Wingman over my shoulder...
I found some sexy nails...
... also found a few harmonica reed boards, one with curled-up reeds still hanging on, and a little fancy piece-o-sumthin...
... I also eyeballed four buttons and dug the Infantry Eagle button (no back mark)...
Dug some .45-70 shells and rounds...
And of course - some trash.
It ain't a lot - but it beats going to work.
Hope the pics turned out okay.
As always, thanks for looking.
Nice hat MJ...looks like you had a good day...but how the heck do you swing a detector through that grass?....and what"s that building in the background?....love that look wingmans giving you..can just imagine what he's thinking....

I miss the days that they made toys that could kill a kid.

That grass looks thicker than it is.
It's an old shed... Wingman Tony dug a crap-load of eagle buttons near there one time.
The look? He's thinking; "Take the damned picture I'm busy!"

Yup... sure is... dug that in an area thats held either cows or sheep for the last 60ish years... I regularly find farm equipment trash out there. A wagon trail is not far off either, which also holds some nuts/bolts that shook loose 130 years ago.
When you get into a tight place and everything goes against
you till it seems you could not hold on a minute longer,
never give up then for that is just the place and time that
the tide will turn.
That's my problem, I just can't find time for work because I'm out detecting. Some very nice atrifacts you found there. Way to go!
It's better to be thought a fool, then open your mouth and remove all doubt.
