Almost Freezing! Montana Buttons and Nickel

It was 38 degrees when I got up this morning… 6 degrees above freezing.

It looked like a brisk and clear day for my hunting partner Wingman Tony and I to head out to one of our digging grounds…

And it was a good day – for both of us!

We both spent some time diggin’ trash… what I call “relics”, and actually came up with a few real relics too. It was a clear day with awesome scenes… snow in the mountains, a few horseback riders, some great buttons… and a coin!

The coin is a huge thing for us because Tony and I have only ever dug one coin each from this spot… we never ever expect to find them… but when we do it’s extremely exciting! Monday - Tony found his second coin… an awesome 1868 Shield Nickel.

Okay – no long stories… just a bunch of pictures…

My first eagle button of the day…

Always a pleasure to see your posts. Congrats to you guys on the finds, especially the nickel. Although you guys don't find many coins, you do come up with some great relics.
    Love the scenery. Stay warm.
