Le Femme Nikita

Leon The Professional

Both Written and Directed by Luc Besson

"Le Femme Nikita" spawned both an American remake, "Point of No Return" Starring Bridget Fonda and Directed by John Badham, and the usa series "Le Femme Nikita", starring Peta Wilson.

"Leon The Professional" stars Jean Reno, a young Natalie Portman, and Gary Oldman(another one of my favorite sleeper actors).

I saw an Italian movie while in the Navy in 1974 or 75 called "Man of the Year" about a stud with three balls. Good goofy and funny movie. I've tried to find it but can't. No, it wasn't a porn flick...jim

Jeux Interdits (1952) French film about orphaned children from WWII

Hiroshima mon Amour (1959) French film about a Japanese man and his love affair with an emotionally scarred French woman immediately after WWII. The opening 15 minutes of this film are Incredibly powerful.

Chevolek s kino-apparatom (1929) Russian Expressionist film that is quite striking. Silent film. (Title translation: "The man with a movie camera")

The Life and Death of 9413, a Hollywood Extra (1928) American Expressionist silent film about the abuse and neglect of Hollywood extras in the early days of film.

Mongolian Ping Pong (2006) a BEAUTIFUL Mongolian film--the cinematography alone is well worth it. The plot isn't really much, but it is a fascinating film.

Happy Viewing,

Buckles
