Hey everyone! Just wondering if there are any good fictional films on treasure hunting. I have seen the national treasure series and love it. Just looking for some new ones. Novels are welcome too..but I don't read a lot, mostly just my textbooks haha. Thanks!

About anything by Clive Cussler. Even Hollywood has adopted a few of his: Raise the Titanic & Sahara. As usual - the books are better.
He must have 25 novels out there: Valhalla Rising, Black Wind, Atlantis Found, Treasure, Inca Gold.
Look for the "Dirk Pitt" series of novels. That's his lead character in most and a running joke is that the main character comes across a usually un-named minor character that is Clive Cussler. Kind of the way Alfred Hitchcock is on screen in all of his movies as some face in the crowd.
He also heads NUMA - a real-live oceanographic research (and "treasure") organization that has located and documented over 60 shipwreck sites (including the CSS Hunley and Mary Celeste). His books have an air of authenticity from his real life experiences.

Once you start looking now a days there are more books & tv shows , you tube &, videos then you will have time to watch or read ... Just way to many out there now every time you turn around there is another one on tv or you tube.... I do not know who watches them .... but i sure do not watch them.... But there must be a lot watch them for they will not go away...
Yes I can't believe how many production companies are
stealing the whole reality treasure hunting show idea.
you would think they would try something original, but apparently
hopping on the bandwagon is easier, and still profitable
idea.
apparently the whole country is on the get rich quick dream ,
of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is by far the best. It won a couple of academy awards. The last scene defies how drywashing works however. C Heston's The Mother Lode is another good one. And Pale Rider

My fav... still remains ... The Deep.
yes that is one of the better movies.
though it's low budget, & no women that I remember
I'd watch "Trespass" (1992) again when I see it's on a non censored channel.
When you have Ice Cube & Ice-T in the same movie, Language is important.
Neither one would say "Forget You !!!! "
or "forget this show" when they are P.O'd & ready to get out the big guns
