This is my third grade class. Mrs. Harrison was one of my favorite teachers. Her daughter taught my daughter 30 years later! Hint. I am by the teacher next to a cute little girl with a bow in her hair. Monty

That Frank Sinatra guy was my best friend. His name was Dwayne. The following school year he caught a mouse in the classroom and it bit him. No one thought much about it but about a month later he got sick and died within 4 days. He had rabis! So sad, my first experience with death. It was really cold that day and everyone was freezing! Just to the right of the steps was a bicycle rack that is still there. I found a silver ring by it about a month ago! That little girl next to me is named Louise and she went all the way through high school with me and graduated the same year. She lives in California and has just divorced her 4th husband. I saw her at a class reunion last spring. My girlfriend as such in the 3rd grade was the girl in the same row next to the last on the right. I can't remember her name. I guess it wasn't true love huh? Funny how I can remember most of these kids and I see some of them every now and then. That was in 1953, a vintage year and I was 8. Monty

When you get into a tight place and everything goes against
you till it seems you could not hold on a minute longer,
never give up then for that is just the place and time that
the tide will turn.

How do you find Gold coins? Reply: 'By finding lots of Silver ones..'

Well, in the doctored picture my nose is missing! That's pretty darn ugly. Just look for the guy with no nose! I have a couple of programs to doctor photos but I am not very good at operating them. The two girls that look "old", the first one is a full blood Indian, last name Troutman. The second is a stereotype redhead with a million freckles, named Sue something. About 2/3 of that 3rd grade class went all the way through highschool and graduated in 1962. Our class is really close knit and we stay in touch and have a reunion every 5 years. Our classmates are dropping like flies and that really concerns me. I am not afraid to share my age. I am 64 going on 16! My school was one of a very small school district that went to the 8th grade at the time the pic was taken. We consolidated with a bigger district the next year and then our school was cut back to just 6 grades. In seventh grade we were bussed to one central Jr. High/High School combined. So I went from an entire school of about 300 kids to one with about 1500 all in one place. Talk about culture shock! There was 382 kids in my senior class. I graduated about #340 but made nearly straight As in college. Go figure. Monty

I'm sorry Monty, did not mean to make you look ugly. Told my hubby last night that I need to work on 4 faces as I was not pleased on the turnout...but there were alot of folds/cracks in the photo. When I saw the photo you posted (by the way, you are such a cutie!), I said, YEAH...this would be a great one to practice on...it was a challenge and still is...as I want to work more on the faces.
Sorry...
