That could be me with my Dad 50+ years ago in Minnesota. We'd get stringers so full of Sunfish and Bluegill I could hardly lift them out of the boat when we were in from a day of fishing.

Pretty cool. First fish I ever caught was a sunfish. It weighed about, oh, 10, 15 pounds or so. Over the years and in retrospect that estimation of size has shrunk down to almost as big as my hand. So when you take a kid fishing you do create a memory.

I used to come in from school, go dig worms and then sit on the bank of the pond till I had a stringer full for our dinner. Those are some nice ones. I always said if a bluegill weighed a couple pounds, people would never fish for bass again lol.

One of my better memories of spending time with my Dad was ice fishing. No mosquitoes around means more patience and time to just sit and talk about life, his upbringing, and many other things. I came to know more about the world he grew up in during those times. He had so many fascinating stories about the times before I came to be. That's when I got to drink coffee for the first time.

Wow .... now thats what im talking about !! Cant wait to do that with my son. Of coarse mine will be of the salt water variety, probably mangrove snappers and grunts. Hes just starting to catch his own fish now. Hes 4 and just getting the hang of it. I have fond memories of catching bluegills with my cousins in Tennessee. Cane poles and crickets and huge fish frys. Great pic.!!
