Too cool! That is a memory to cherish for sure! I have yet to ride on a train but I am determined that someday I will! :blob5:

This train doesn't go fast or very far.
It used to ferry the crew to and from the mine from Leadville.
The ride stops at the mine property. But Little Nicholas thought it was great.
It was just long enough to keep him interested and not loose his attention span.
By the time we got back, he was ready for a nap.

Thanks CD,

Since I don't have the little ones of my own anymore, and my Geand kids are not as close as he is, I'll go over and get a kid fix every once in a while.

The little ones are my favorites. No body has taught them to be pretentious yet and I find it so refreshing.
He is my shadow when he is with me. He hooks a finger in a belt loop and hangs on.
I think it kind of cool.

Nothing better than a train ride...my son at the age of 2 & 6, two different train trips, from NOLA to Washington, DC and the other from NOLA to El Paso, TX on to Denver. They forever cherish those fun trips.

I sure hope he remembers some of it Linda,
But if he doesn't I have tons of pictures to remind him with.
I'm not the kind of GreatUncle who would make him sit and watch them, LOL
but I will give him a copy of a disk and let him do it on his own.

Yes They will,
I'm working on getting him a little detector and a digger so he can go hunt the pasture this summer.

Maybe make some more of this kind of memory.

Judy,
He was so fired up that a couple weeks later Nick's Grandpa took him over to Silverton to ride the Narrow Guage to Durrango and back. They spent the weekend, and when they got him home he promptly made his own play railroad in the flower beds.
Nicholas is a character, LOL

Red,
It was a long ride to take a short one, but worth every minute.
