Re: Best live concert you've ever been to

Tough call as I have seen maybe 40 live shows but Bob Dylan was maybe the best. Thirteen people up on stage and he was polished. Styx was also great as was Bruce Springsteen before he sold out. We had the kingdome here for alot of these shows so I have to rule against Led Zep. Just terrible acoustics

Woodstock "69" but I was only there for 3 performances Quicksilver Messenger Service, Richie Havens, and I forgot the third band, nothing earth shattering. I had to go back to work at the scout camp down the road a bit at TMR (Ten Mile River)

Other than that it was Cream, Tull, Humble Pie, J Giels Band and Sly and the Family Stone. Funny thing about the Sly show was that as always Sly couldn't remember the words, but the opening act was Earth, Wind and Fire at MSQ :headbang:

Supremes 3x's
Little Anthony and the Imperials
Bo Diddly
James Brown
Ray Charles
Liomal Richie and the Commodores
Ronnie Dove
Johnny Cash 3 x's
Willie Nelson
Bob Dylan
Santana
Kris Kristofferson
EmmyLou Harris
Doobie Brothers
John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band 3 x's
Jimmy Vaughn
Buddy Guy
Van Morrison twice
Lynrd Skynrd

But, I have to say the best was Roy Orbison. Never been to such a quiet concert before or since. The crowd was like stunned silent. No hooting+hollerin, no singing along, no back+forth traffic to the bathrooms. It's like we all knew we were in the presence of greatness! and we were! What an incredible voice he had :) He did alot of the tunes a cappella; his voice was his instrument.

Wow did this jar a brain cell. Great topic Muddy! I was just in elementary school in the 70s and I got the privilege of hearing this brass band and some guy named Dizzy Gillespie. Never heard of him, had no idea what kind of music he played. He blew the rafters off the gym. I didn't even know that what he did even existed or was even humanly possible. I was in complete awe!

Eagles! Opened the BOK in Tulsa last year. I was at the back of the auditorium, all the way at the top, with my back to the wall. no AC. Can still relive every moment in my mind. Joe Walsh stole the show.

As far as quality and quantity of music I would have to say Woodstock 99 as my favorite.
