I agree...ask pretty much anyone who the top guitarist is and you will hear Page, Clapton, Hendricks, Van Halen and others...but rarely will anyone name Satriani up there....and I think mainly the reason is that for some reason he has remained under the radar and is not known by many, which is a shame.

I admit..Page is my #1 guitar player...

Clapton is not even on my list along with Van Halen (can't stand to hear the same riffs over and over and over....)

Hendrix is on my list...

I started listening to Steve Vai.. His older stuff from G3 and Frank Zappa days are pretty interesting.
The jury is still out on the new stuff..

Joe Satriani picked up a guitar when Jimi Hendrix died... Joe tutored Steve Vai and many other's.

Randy Rhoads is my #2

My fav. would be Ricky Medlocke from Blackfoot and Lynyrd Skynyrd...not because I think he is the best, more so because I love their music. Page is definitely at or near the top of my list as well, for he IS one of the best...gotta be there for Zeppelin is also one of my favs.
