Re: 10 Albums, or CD's

I have owned 3 albums/CD's in every format as it came out, wax, 8-track, cassette, CD, and now I-Tunes for my Ipod. They are:

ZZ Top, Fandango
Charlie Daniels Band, Saddle Tramp
Lynyrd Skynyrd, One More from the Road

I haven't done this with any other, so I'll only name 3.

5- Joe Cocker Mad Dogs & Englishmen
6- Chicago Transit Authority The Chicago Transit Authority

Love reading your postings of Metal Detecting and Music, great stuff. This one is personally hard for me as I have collected over 3,000 albums over the last 42 years and draged them around with me whenever I've moved. But to pick 10 favorites is rather hard. I am still partial to the sixties/seventies with favorites, as I've attached great memories to many of the songs and times. I'll give you 15 just to jog your memory a little.

Led Zepplin – Led Zepplin
Traffic – Low Spark In Highheel Boys
Santana – Santana
Cream – Fresh Cream
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Emerson, Lake & Palmer
King Crimson – In The Court Of The Crimson King
Credence Clear Water – Bayou Country
It’s a Beautiful Day – It’s a Beautiful Day
Jimi Hendrix Experience – Axis Bold As Love
Jeff Beck – Truth
Big Brother & The Holding Company – Cheap Thrills
Iron Butterfly – In A Godda Da Vita
Deep Purple – In Rock
Love – Love
Quicksilver Messenger Service - Quicksilver Messenger Service

Re: 10 Albums, or CD's

tyyrabbit, some nice choices, but you would have to leave 5 albums behind :laughing9: The only 2 you mentioned that I don't have, or even know are Love, and It's A Beautiful Day.

I also love Cream and Traffic. For a single album I would have went with Cream's Disraeli Gears and Traffic's John Barely Corn Must Die

My original choices are all double albums, so I would actually have 20 records, doubling my total :tongue3:

Then I think I would put all 3000 on a memory stick and hide in in my shoe.

Interesting choices, but you really limit your listening ability with such few artists. I love to mix my music up and get more bang for the buck. Long live Suzie Creamcheese :hello2:

Re: 10 Albums, or CD's

Their are too many great albums from the 60's and the 70's to even think about. Once I would get started, I would have to rip out my hair choosing between them. I didn't have Zappa on mine tyyrabbit, that was from Jeff.

CTA That only lasted one album. Always loved them with the vocals of Peter Cetera. What I loved best about that era is the music was always evolving: rock, blues, jazz, Latin (Santana) and fusions of all the aforementioned.

Now I am thinking of Mountain Both the Climbing and Nantucket Sleigh-ride albums

Re: 10 Albums, or CD's

Now you just brought back another great memory Spartacus. Mountain, I was in the service when this came out, we played both Mountain 1st and Nantucket Slieghride all the time. Leslie West on gutiar and bassist Felix Pappalardi were a great mix. Did you know Felix Pappalardi was the producer of Cream albums? Saw them live in England with Deep Purple and Groundhogs while on leave. Thanks for taking me back Spartacus.

Re: 10 Albums, or CD's

I didn't know that Felix produced Cream, and Cream is my all time favorite band ever. There mix of blues and jazz was something new to me and I loved the voice of Jack Bruce. His bass playing was like a lead guitar ate times.

I last saw Leslie West about 8 years ago at a small club and you wouldn't recognize him. He looked like a white haired toothpick. :laughing9: I didn't know it was him until he started playing and I heard his voice. At least his voice didn't change

Buddy Holly - Overlaying Tracks and re-recording
Elvis - Ahead of his time
Beatles - Sgt. Peppers and Abby Road recording Studio releases -- broke mundane Its My Party teenyboper music rut
Rolling Stones - everything else category
(Knights In White Satin)(Lady Madona)(Here Comes The Sun, It Don't Come Easy)
Electronic Synthesizer -- Lucky Man
Cream, Foghat, Doobie Brothers, War, Bob Seger,
