Warren William Zevon (January 24, 1947 – September 7, 2003) was an American rock singer-songwriter and musician noted for including his unique and sometimes sardonic opinions of life in his musical lyrics, composing songs that were sometimes humorous and often had political or historical themes.

Zevon's work has often been praised by well-known musicians, including Jackson Browne, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young.[1] His best-known compositions include "Werewolves of London", "Lawyers, Guns and Money", "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner" and "Johnny Strikes Up The Band," all of which are featured on his third album, Excitable Boy (1978). Other well-known songs written by Zevon have been recorded by other artists, including "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" (a top 40 hit by Linda Ronstadt), "Accidentally Like a Martyr," "Mohammed's Radio", "Carmelita", and "Hasten Down the Wind".

Warren had not been to the Dr in decades... but at the dentist he was telling him about some issues he was having.. His dentist expressed that he needed to get to the Dr... It was not good... terminal and he did not have long... He then lived that last year with the "I'll sleep when I'm dead"

This was a song from that last album he wrote and recorded in the last few months...

Keep me in your heart for a while...

Has it been 8 years already...my...time does fly for the living... :'(

Impromptu for W. Zevon

Sleep well good knight...go gently into that dark night,
No more the battle with the dark or light.
Time means nothing where we rest from our flight,
Soon to rise and fly with eyes again bright.

That last song, "Keep Me In Your Heart For A While", sounded so much like Dylan's, "The Times They Are A Chang'in"
