Forgotten Rock bands

You know, bands that were touted as the best thing since sliced bread...then disappeared off the map. I submit one band that was once considered better than The Beatles, had a few hits then never heard from them again!

Feel free to list some you can think of. Not talking about one hit wonders here.

Ok, here is another one. You don't hear much about this band anymore. I always loved the "haunting" harmonica on "Take the long way home".

rock - The Kinks... Probably one of the most under rated groups ever
The Grassroots.. OK at least Creed Bratton got an acting job on NBC's The Office
The James Gang
The Band
Mountain
Genesis.... First Peter Gabriel left, then Phil Collins... That's all she wrote

blues/jazz - Cream
Blind Faith - Cream without Jack Bruce

And yet the Rolling Stones continue forward.. 1/2 should have been dead years ago.. Maybe they're just too stoopid to lie down

Everybody knows this bands songs, but not everyone remembers their name.

From the classic rock era you can add the following: Steppenwolf, J. Giels Band, Sly & The Family Stone, The Doors, The Animals, Blood Sweat & Tears, Small Faces....

Here's another BOSTON.. Great 1st album that almost sounded like a greatest hits record.
