If Levon isn't singing lead vocals in this 'classic' - it's hardly worth listening to. IMHO, Sirs & Ladies .

It's said that Levon Helm , the heart & lead vocals with that 'unique Southern style' that sets 'The Band' apart from others is unfortunately
nearing the end of his battle with cancer. Another end of an era. Many of us western Pa. 'mill-hunky rednecks' of that era loved that music.
He will at last meet up with Rich Danko, another unique voice of The Band . That group will never, ever be as good. All I can offer is this - thanks for the great sound & I pray you go peacefully Brother.
