Saw him many years ago at Bloomsburg Fair when he was still Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

I knew Tom Petty during his Florida days with Mudcrutch.
My band and Mudcrutch were double booked at a teen VFW gig, I said we could both split the door, but Tom looked at the crowd, said that wouldn't be much for both bands, and suggested flipping a coin. I won the coin toss.
You are missed already, but rock and roll heaven has one hell of a band!

Never was a huge fan but recognized his talent and he had quite a number of memorable, catchy tunes - RIP.
