For those following the earlier saga, the mailman brought the package of my best finds today and all is good again. So here's a photo of them, including a few recent ones. This represents just about one year of detecting. I gave it up about 20 years ago and started again last year when one of my kids got interested in it. About 3/4 of these finds are from the old swim hole. There are: 2 Barber halves, 5 Standing liberties, 6 Washingtons, 1 Barber dime, 17 Mercs, 6 Rosies, 1 Liberty nickel, one Indian head, one halfpence or farthing from 1740s and one Connecticut Copper 1780s. I am lucky to live in an area of upstate NY with lots of history and "old stuff" around, but to me the fun and reward is in the research of the really good places to search. (sorry for photo quality, best I can do)
