Funny how you remember things like this. My best found wheaties are 1911-D, 1913-D, and 1926-S

Well, my best wheatie is a 1940.
I've only been at it with my ace 250 for about 10 months and found only 3 wheaties, the othe two is a 1945.

I have found a pile of early "S" mint teen wheats in the past two years in S. Cal. Thirty or so.

My two best wheat finds are a 1909 S, and a 1922 plain.
My best Injun is a 1909 "S".

Living on the West coast does have its advantages with regards to "S" mint oldies.

Mine is a 1915s It is the first and only wheat Ive found, so far. I found it in Charleston SC while looking for civil war relics.

My oldest found wheatie is a 1917. My oldest found S mint mark is from 1929.

This is the 1943 steel cent. My nicest wheat penny find. My oldest is the 1912, I call it the "unsinkable molly brown"

Nice to have a place to show some wheats...I have found lots so I showed the harder to find 1914D a 1913s and a pretty good looking 1911...

I live in the concrete jungle of Florida so it is highly difficult to find old coins here! It took me a month to find my first wheatie! I've only found maybe 15 since then! Our beaches here have been replenished by open water sand many times. If you find an old coin on the beach it is just a fluke! It is very difficult to get into real good hunting territory in this neck of the woods! I envy the people up north that have better chances of finding older coins than we do here! My oldest wheatie was a 1919 that I found on a trip down to Arcadia which is a pretty old town! That's the best I can do in this neck of the palm trees!
