Just thought I would share my best find since spring of 1997. I was searching around an old house foundation when I got A good signal in the silver/coins range at 7" deep. When I pulled it out of the hole it was black with allot of corrosion. I just thought it was a strange piece of aluminum or something and continued to search around the old foundation. I found a few wheat backs in 30's and 40's. When I got home and started to clean the strange object I started to see the date and then I new I finally found something that was really old. A 1785 Spanish 2 reale!! Not sure how this ended up where it did? Maybe an old trapper?

At the time I didn't know allot about how to clean a coin. So I used an old toothbrush and hot soapy water. It took awhile. I got lucky and didn't do to much damage.
