I found this one a while back...was covered in gunk (something iron stuck to it)...never knew a Q-tip and olive oil would hurt it until I looked at it through the Eyeclops...






Oh well, you live, you learn...(i'll never clean another coin again...)

best method to clean old copper coins is heated up hygren peroxcide heated in microwave til boils then drop coin in it... altho each case is different any coin that looks corroded you shouldn't use this method

youe=rs looks better than the one I'm working on. If you do a paper rub , you can tell its an Indian. It has so much crud on it I need a chisel just to get through it. Good job on the Indian. HH zztop

i have always heard good old hot soap and water and a childs soft toothbrush or make a slice in a idaho russet and insert coin and check every so often on progress of tater cleaning
