I was hunting the parkways and empty lots in a S.E. CA town. Got a quarter signal and popped one up with just a skiff of dirt on it. Badly corroded. Later I was looking at my finds and looked more closely at this quarter. When I saw the eagle in flight I was sure I had something more than the usual. I am slowly trying to clean off all the corrosion with a silver polish but it isn't helping much. I believe the date should be below the Liberty but there's nothing. If I tried to get a pic here you'd see a grungy slug. BUT, it's probably the oldest coin I've found out here, and as they say, "it is silver". John
