    BUCKLES - PICTURE ADDED

Picture of a representative group of buckles I found over the years, which are nearly ready for display in the local museum. Still need to square them off, sew them on, & label them.

Awesome collection and I'm sure the museum appreciates you display

Noticed the labels even have date ranges. I understand you hunt great sites and that research a key factor, but still quite a few man hours needed in order to put together a display like this

When you display at museums will it state that the collection is on display courtesy of 'Crusader'? Also, when you Brits find stuff you sell to the museums will they mention where/when and who found it? Just curious on how that works.

Yes it takes a lot of time.

Generally, MDers don't sell to Museums. They get the best stuff via the Treasure system which means they have the 'right' to buy & we have no choice to refuse. ie. they pay the market value for items which have been declared treasure under the terms of the Act. Most of the time they hand stuff back. I have no idea if they name you, if they display it

The museum I'm involved in is only a small amatuer affair which until I joined mainly displayed photographic & reference documents. I don't have my 'credits' on the displays as I don't want any unwanted attention, plus I'm not a glory hunter (well except on here, it seems)

Are they done in a chronological order? I can't resolve for the dates so I can't tell.

And you really don't have to be a glory hunter here, with the finds you make and post the glory is magnetically drawn to you.

I have 5 buckles. And damn proud of them I might add. If I had all of these, I might just lay them all over myself.

Nice buckles Cru, there are some outstanding ones in your display. I am positive that the people enjoyed looking at them, and agree with you about the glory! And keep on buckling..
