Needle
This simple thing is a best thing of mine. Obviously it's a needle, but it's in bronze, so it's of some age. I found it on a site a couple of years ago, that as given finds from Celtic through to late medieval. It's in great condition and as sharp as the day it was made (whenever that was). I've seen pins found from every period of English history, but never a needle. So this must be the proverbial needle in a haystack (sorry couldn't resist it ).
