Silver booty - retitled
Here are some silver coins recovered a few years ago off the coast of "Florida". The information I had about them was second-hand, however, they appear to be genuine. In any case, I am having them appraised by an expert, just to be sure. I just wanted to share with y'all. Sorry for some of the blurring.... Still learning to make high quality, small size pics.... er.. lol, blurry big pics
The update below is from the appraiser. I was told they came from a shipwreck but the appraiser says not... I have updated the title to reflect same.

Re: Shipwreck booty - Silver
Get a digital camera with a Macro lens, that will help for closeups. That is some awesome looking silver

Re: Shipwreck booty - Silver
I would love to have anything from a 300+ year old ship wreck. Good luck on your authentication and let us know how it turns out.

Re: Shipwreck booty - Silver
From noted appraiser (see banner at top of page):
Those coins are 8 reales (the large coins) and a 2 reales, all from the Potosi mint in Bolivia, struck in the early 1600s. They do not come from a wreck. The small one is interesting because it has a countermark applied in Guatemala in 1663. At least the coins look genuine to me.
-WooHoo
The large coins weighed in at 26.5-27g each (1oz) and the small one at 7g (.2oz)...
The dollar appraisal seemed a bit low to me, but the sentimental value is priceless...
Thanks for the macro lens idea, spartacus.

Now I'm confused. Your title implies one thing & the underlined implies another
They look good to me

How do you find Gold coins? Reply: 'By finding lots of Silver ones..'
A real man thinks about detecting every 6 seconds
