Bottles and spanish silver coins found in Suriname
Dutch rum bottles, onion bottles and wine bottles found by our customer at the coast of Suriname. To date they found 218 bottles not including around 300+ broken ones. They are still excavating the spot. The bottles date from around 1620 - 1715. Here some photos of only a few of the excavated bottles:

Too bad they were all empty Looks like that is an interesting site, but have all your finds been rum bottles? Must have been a trading post.

Re: Bottles and spanish silver coins found in Suriname
I don't know if I am in the dark or something but from what I do know, those bottles have to be extremely rare to find whole never mind the horde that I see here! They are certainly rare on this side of the world and since I have dug bottles most of my life, I would faint if I just dug one of those!
Thanks for sharing this story and now I have to go from being green with envy.
Dave.
