Best Relic, Button, Copper Coin, and Silver Coin for 2009
Well looks like this coming Saturday could be my last hunt for 2009 so here are the more interesting things that will go in my dug collection for the year. It was a very strange year in several ways, one being a lot of the finds didn't really stack up to how good we thought the site would be. I've had single hunts with near as many keepers as the ones shown below, but that's just the way it goes. I am still very happy with the year, had some great new sites and was a lot of fun. I really hope my last dig for 2009 (a 1 day roadtrip) adds a find to this page, or replaces one! ...and it did (Updated to include best iron relic find)
The finds are....
Relic -Toy Cannon, never thought I'd find one. Very few turn up here.
Button - Local to my area, great addition regardless of the bend. A first also.
Copper Coin - 1797 George Twopence and another first, glad to have it after seeing Romeo dig one a while back.
Silver - Gotta be the cob. Not my first but might be the prettiest!
Iron Relic - 6 Pound Cannonball
The hunts in order they happened.

You'd probably hate me more in person. Poor ole Frenchy Marc the day he did the face plant. The abuse he took was much worse than the fall.
