Sorry couldn't be bothered to get them all out.
Left is Bag Seals, right is Cloth Seals.
I don't keep the hundreds of modern ones.

How do you find Gold coins? Reply: 'By finding lots of Silver ones..'

I don't ever recall digging a bale seal. It seems like you and IH find them every trip. It is interesting how Colonial PA and the Colonial Island are much different in terms of recovered artifacts.

I don't find many either, guess you have to be hunting more farm areas and not isolated wooded homesites. But here is a photo of most of mine in my meager collection. Probably only one or two is a bale seal, never gave them too much thought. :P

"The mantra has always been don't clean a (copper) coin or it will lose value.
For undug coins this is true. For dug coins this is untrue.
The value will increase with judicious cleaning."

All mine are early French dating about 1720s-1750s. I have never found an old one that was not French. We do dig them once in a while but they are definitely not a common find. You could detect here for 5,10,15 or 20 years and not find one and I'm sure there's many poeple that fit in that category.

We've found similar seals...the one marked Kali Syndikat. Yours has Berlin and mine has Leopoldshall Stassfurt.

I went all last year, and did not find a single seal until October, and then found 10 that month. Here is a pic of one marked SAL from Sal, Cape Verde Africa, which was obviously used to seal a salt bag. Breezie
