Re: Post Your Best Gold Ring(over 100years Old)
okay, just wondering. my one gold ring I know isn't a hundred years old. from how deep
it was, I'd estimate 10 - 12 years old

I only have 3 gold rings but all are in the range of 100 years or older. The other two are just bands.

the longer you have them, the more you appreciate them, when you figure how long it takes to find another

Found it Aug. 5 or6 years ago. Was quite a roll I was on that month. There was a find of the month contest I used to enter on a certain forum which I won't name because they don't deserve to be mentioned. Anyway, for the categories of Coin, Relic, and Jewelry my finds were.... a 1723 2 Reale Pistareen, 8 pound cannonball, and that ring. The voting lasted a day or two and I was winning all three right up until the last couple hours when I think a few people decided not to give me the sweep, and the ring lost. The day the ring was found was pretty cool too, I had guests here and we didn't have any great plan other then to hit the semi beat sites. The first place a friend dug a military and we all found odds and ends, then we made a brief stop and I found the ring, and the last site of the day one of the guys dug a killer button. It was pretty kicka$$ for going out thinking it was just going to be an average day with average finds. My 2 reale and ball was from a week or two before, it was an exchage trip we did I guess you could say.

The 100+ year old gold isn't an easy club to join, but seeing what's posted, it's a great one to have a membership to!

Iron Patch - That snake ring is a thing of beauty. Congrats.
Silver Searcher - Those Roman children sure had funny shaped fingers. Very nice find.

Yep you have a couple of great ones for sure. I haven't dug anything gold in over 5 years so it's not really something I think about much, rings or anything else.

I love that picture
That's just how my one was, but I didn't have the camera. Even if I did I probably wouldn't have had the patience.
