It's nice to get one keeper, but isn't it great when you dig 2 finds you're really happy with from the same hunt. I'll have to think about this because I believe I hit quite a few of these daily double keeper days, but only one is coming to mind.

Let's see the two you went home with the same day. Heck post 3 or more if you dug em, but keep in mind these are finds you consider very good keepers. The more I think about this, I've had several killer days.

Pics taking from my best finds of 2008, and was the last time I can think of which I dug two good keepers the same day. The button came first so obviously my day was made, then 20 minutes later I got a deep hit that sounded exactly like the 2 shotgun shells I had just dug, but ended up being the silver. Deep targets partly on edge can play tricks on you!

YES ! I found the G.W. on my second year of MDing. This year was only my third year swinging "The machine"
I cant wait to see what the next few years will bring.

Being you didn't put the GW here I guess it was a lone find for the day? But didn't you pop both those USA buttons together, and maybe with that good early lg cent? You must have one more group to add here.

Sep 29th 2003, KGI Indian Peace medal and 2 Spanish Half Real coins , musket parts, spoons and butttons.


Sep 20th 2003, same site, earlier 1700s Spanish Shoe buckle, Rev War Dragoon button, KGI copper and more other buttons.


Actually 3 days of great finds from that site
Oct 2, 2003, with my son hunting with me, Three William III Halfpennies and some more old buttons, including another dragoon button, but almost totally unrecognizable. (Lead)

I KNEW the peace medal site was going to get at least one post from you. 2003 was certainly a great year for you! (I remember it, and your posts very well)


I'm going to start logging pics like that from future hunts. It's great to look back!

Before coming to the tnet and not having paid much attention to UK posts, I probably would have thought that was an average day. But to get any three ancient silver of that quality in the same day sure doesn't seem to happen often. The Edwards.... well that might be a once in your lifetime type find.

Dug these 4 buttons in 2005 I believe, was the first time finding 4 old military on the same day. It was a site I researched, but not a typical hunting spot for us being in the woods. I only dug 7 buttons total that day and 4 were keepers! The funny part is the next year we loaded all the gear we'd need to dig the entire site out only to get there and see it was done for us, and was a dirt field! I thought we had it made digging many more targets but I ended up 0/20 for buttons. Don't know how 4/7 goes to 0/20, but it did.

I did beat that by one and now my best is 5 in a day. I'm happy just getting one, and two doesn't happen often. If I beat 5 you all will definitely hear about it!

Dug these on a single. My goal for this particular hunt was to find a coin from the 1700s', hadn't found one up to this point. I found the 1799 1st and almost called it a day there (if I had then Mel or Andy would have had thier first 8 reale ).

Heres a good day in my book. Enjoy Had another day a few days after I dug these where I got a 1723 woods hibernia, a 2 center, a 1832 1 centime from Haiti ,and a 64 indian, plus another no date indian. Will posts picks if you want to see em.

Got these two in the same day :P hard enough to find Scottish hammered but two in one day and quite rare ones at that 8) first ones a early Alexander111, second ones a very rare Alexander11 short cross cut half this coin would have been a £2k coin if complete ..... note the double crack on the first, it droped apart later
