an unusual find for a 5900

a couple of years ago while working a local park that at least a dozen other detectorists work on a regular basis - i was surprised to see my meter reading gold. after a little digging i came up with three pieces of metal that looked like gold and were shaped like horse collars. the largest one was about an inch and a quarter across the next largest about one inch across and the third one about 3/4" across. they were curved around the rim like they might have had a small sized cord or rope around them. i took them home and checked them out with my gm/vsat and they tested out gold. these to me were the most unusual find as it is the only time my 5900 has registered gold even though i have found several gold rings - they tested nickel. wayne
