Killing time today waiting for the hunt
Did a bit of organizing too, so figured why not post a few pics.
Romeo and I are doing a 3 day dig and hope to find the same type of stuff shown below, plus some! I'm as well prepared as I ever have been going in so would like it to be as good in the posts as it looks on paper. During my research/brainstorming I was coming across sites I had for us last year that we didn't make it to, as well as some from a few years before, and even one that I have been waiting to try for about 7 years! (Ironhorse and I have stopped by at least a half dozen times and there would never be anyone home) I'm pretty charged up about this weekend because I have three large areas in mind that I know had at least early to mid. 1800s houses, but I suspect there might be better. Each area consists of many fields and is the kind of place that could turn up an old find bonanza! I've said this will be a button year for me, and like always it's what I'll be looking for. If you get all the buttons, you get everything else, and I'll gladly take what comes with them. Ironhorse is back in town next week which adds even more sites that we had scouted last year. Ok, after all that Romeo better let me find something!

Isn't tomorrow day 1?
Good luck IP, I think you're going to get some stick if you don't do well
Who needs Cartwheel Pennies anyway?

Yep, unless something changes we'll be on the road at about 7:30 am.
As for the amount of success we'll have, no idea until we're done. For all I know my main ideas could all be hunted and that would waste at least a full day just checking them, not to mention having to rework my hunt plan on the fly. Last year all Romeo's best finds were from sites that weren't even worth staying at! (shows how detecting can't be predicted) The only thing I can say for certain is I'm ready with the ideas, and we won't give up until he heads home. To tell you the truth even if there was a way to know how it would go I don't think I'd want to because I love the adventure.

Yeah he looks like an angry critter.
Will be no hanger over, but we will still take the treatment. (Lots of pizza and coffee)

colonial pizza with a melange of french and english coppers instead of pepperoni?
twice the crunch, half the calories and none of the "gilt"!

...and Rev War buttons in the place of Salami! My only goal is to find old sites with targets, and if I do that I'll call it success even if we're eating Colonial cheese pizza when it's said and done.

right, right, right...
the "gilt" is half the rush!
a rev. war button might be #1 for my 2010 goals. i've got a spot or two, but all they've been producing is pesky 19th century silver. ech!
