I bought my first metal detector in 1985 and I have been focusing on relics and early coins since 1989. I prefer to dig colonial relics and coins, but I will dig anything Civil War and earlier. Here are a few of my favorite items and some group shots.

The G. Washington cufflink is my favorite and most valuable find. I dreamed of finding one of the Rattlesnake and Stars buttons for years before I found my first one. After I found my second one two years ago, I got the button tattooed on my arm :laughing7: The two coin piles as well as the two group shots of coppers are from my two best colonial sites.

WOW! Some fantastic early finds there for sure. That spanish silver is in fantastic condition!

Someday I would like to find a George Washington button, but the chances are pretty darn slim. Dare to dream!

Another reason why I wish I would've gotten into detecting, instead of focusing on baseball while growing up in Pittsburgh. :BangHead:

Awesome collection, or at least part of it anyway. Thanks for sharing. :notworthy:

Well I grew up in Ligonier and lived right beside Fort Ligonier for a while. I actually helped the archaeologists excavate the fort when I was a little kid. I found my first French & Indian War musketball when I was 6 years old. So I got the kind of exposure you couldn't get growing up in Pittsburgh  I still played my share of baseball - LOL

LOL. Just because I grew up in Pittsburgh, doesn't necessarily mean I was confined to Pittsburgh.

Newly registered, but looking at the posts a lot - I love the collection of bits. That blows my mind. I have one piece - part of a Carolus III I found on the beach. My favorite is the pillar and waves design. Awesome coin.

LOL :laughing7: I forgot about this post....

I made it right after I started posting on T-Net last summer....

Yes, everything shown above was found in Pennsylvania.

But I have an updated cut silver pic, with two additions I found in Virginia last October. The rest were found in southwestern PA.
