no cleaning for these, as dug from salt mud/sand
freshwater soak to leach out salt/
the more I learn, the less I clean :thumbsup:

very very nice collection of buckles :icon_thumleft: when i first started hunting i would find buckles and consider them junk because i didn't know any better. Since then when i do find one i do the dance of joy :headbang:

Wow Bill, perhaps the best collection of early colonial buckles found in US that I have seen, and yes that last buckle is a killer find!

Seeing those buckles the first thing that comes to mind is all the people who often state just how difficult it is to find a Colonial copper in their area... and I believe it's the truth because I hunt quite old sites and have never dug one of the early buckles in the first picture.
